Lots of flash, plenty substance as FSU opens spring football camp

TALLAHASSEE — Florida State’s first spring practice was only a few minutes old, but Mike Norvell seemed in midseason form. The third-year Seminoles coach sprinted from one end of the practice field at the Albert J. Dunlap Athletic Training Facility to the other, leading a gaggle of players trying to keep up.

Under picture-perfect conditions that featured aqua blue skies and warm temperatures, FSU began its third spring camp under Norvell on Saturday. The event drew a larger group of more than 100 former players and recruits to take in the morning practice.
