Florida State baseball (13-0) closes its weekend non-conference slate with a three-game set against Lipscomb (4-8). The Seminoles received their only off-day of the week yesterday, as the train keeps chugging in their five-game in six-night sprint. FSU pounded UNF on Tuesday, 10-1, and survived a late push from Bethune Cookman, winning 9-7, to keep their winning streak alive and bring momentum into the series versus the Bison.
Florida State was expected to roll out the same three Jesuit high school lefties this weekend, but ESPN reported, and then Brett Nevitt confirmed, that Jamie Arnold is scratched for his start on Friday with an “illness,” and Joey Volini will move up a day to take his place.
