The news was first reported by TMZ.com Wednesday afternoon, Jameis Winston and sexual assault accuser Erica Kinsman have reached a settlement in the civil lawsuit she filed against him.
Winston will also drop the countersuit he filed in May 2015. It was a response to the April 2015 lawsuit Kinsman filed accusing him of sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Details of the settlement were not disclosed.
The countersuit was on the grounds of Winston claiming her accusations were false and defamatory.
Winston was never charged in the December 2012 incident as the state attorney’s office cited lack of evidence.
