As Florida State has struggled to navigate its start to the 2024 season, another point of frustration arose following the Seminoles’ first home game — a noticeably absent presence of FSU’s band, the Marching Chiefs, a trend that was first spotted in 2023.
With fans voicing annoyance at the reduction of the marching band in favor of blaring pop music, the university and the band both issued statements last week in an attempt to quell the outrage.
A report by the Tallahassee Democrat revealed that the band stopped playing the Warchant on third down by request of the football team.
