“Good, competitive work — high emotions:” Notes, observations from FSU’s first open practice of Cal week

While fans clamor for any change, Mike Norvell maintains a firm line, believing in his team's practice and work habits even admist confusion as to why it hasn’t translated to game day.

On Tuesday, the Seminoles hit the field, diving head-first into their preparation for Cal while only making minor tweaks to their practice schedule. Instead of the usual two-minute drill during the first 11-on-11 period on a Tuesday practice, Norvell opted for red zone work as both sides of the ball struggle in that area. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on the perspective, the first team offense’s session ended in three plays from a Fentrell Cypress interception.
