The Florida State Seminoles are visiting the 10th-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish (7-1) tonight in South Bend for a prime-time matchup of a preseason-projected Top 10 showdown for a possible spot in the expanded college football playoffs.
Instead, the Seminoles (1-8, 1-8 ACC) are gimping in as 25.5-point underdogs and on the verge of having their worst season in 49 years (3-8 in 1975). Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and will be televised on NBC.
The Seminoles are averaging less than 14.5 points per game and have not scored more than 16 points in any game since the season opener against Georgia Tech when they scored their season-high 21 points.
