Deuce Spann wasn’t concerned about whether he could switch from quarterback to wide receiver.
A gifted athlete, Spann had the size (6-foot-4) and speed to accommodate his move to a new position, something he displayed last season while at Illinois. He’s continued to showcase that growth even after transferring to Florida State in December.
“I didn’t think it would be easy, but I knew I could do it because I feel like I’m a great athlete,” Spann said of the position change.
Spann, a Florida native, was a 3-star prospect out of Lakewood High before signing as part of the Illini’s 2020 recruiting class.
