Yes, you’ve heard this story before— but that doesn’t mean that the tale has grown tiresome. After winning three of the last six major golf championships, Florida State’s Brooks Koepka is once again atop the leaderboard, having shot a -6 round of 66 on Thursday to open the Masters. That score has him tied atop the leaderboard with fellow American Bryson DeChambeau in Augusta.
Koepka, who played for the Seminoles before going pro in 2012, has become an absolute major machine of late on the PGA Tour, entering the Masters ranked No. 4 in the world. Koepka is the two-time defending US Open Champion, as well as the defending PGA Champion.
