The game started tight but Stanford used an 8-2 run to take an early 10-9 lead at the first media timeout. FSU was cold from deep. The Seminoles started the game 1-10 from three and that allowed the Cardinal to jump out to a 21-11 early lead. However, the Seminoles ended the quarter on a 6-2 mini-run and that allowed them to come within six at 23-17 entering the second quarter.
