Florida State will trot out yet another new look this weekend, one that Seminole fans hope will prompt a new look on the scoreboard as well. When the ’Noles play at NC State on Saturday, they’ll wear their traditional gold helmets and white road jerseys, but instead of gold pants, they’ll go with garnet.
We’ve seen the garnet pants on the road already this year, as FSU sported them for its game at Louisville. However, in that contest, Florida State went with its two-toned black and garnet helmet. The most likely association many fans have with this look is probably back in 2003, then the Seminole donned the same combination in Gainesville— that was the game won by the long pass from Chris Rix to P.
