This evening against Samford, Florida State will honor legendary actor and former Seminole running back, Burt Reynolds. One of Reynolds’ most recognizable roles was in the classic Smokey and the Bandit, so the Seminoles will fittingly wear a helmet decal of the famous “BAN ONE” license plate that adorned the Bandit’s all-black Trans-Am.
Following an injury that ended his football career, Reynolds was encouraged to pursue his Hollywood dreams by former roommate, and fellow FSU legend, Lee Corso. It was good advice, as Reynolds went on to be a staple in Hollywood blockbusters throughout the 1970’s and ultimately become one of the most recognizable and respected actors of all time.
