Florida State rallied late, but the Seminoles could not overcome a big early deficit and finished with at 38-22 loss at NC State Saturday.
FSU, which has coped with adversity all season, did not give up against the Wolfpack and scored 13 points in the fourth quarter.
“I was proud of our team the way they competed until the end,” FSU coach Mike Norvell said. “The energy that was on the sideline. … They continued to compete. It was great to see a little rally there at the end.”
FSU (2-6, 1-6 ACC) had a bit of momentum during the fourth quarter when true freshman quarterback Chubba Purdy threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Warren Thompson to make the score 38-22.
