Recently, the linebacker position has been troubling for Florida State, with the Seminoles failing to produce an All-ACC caliber player since Reggie Northrup in 2015.
After several seasons of instability, the position appears to have found some footing, with Kalen DeLoach, DJ Lundy and Amari Gainer solidifying the middle of the defense. Their return, along with the addition of transfer Tatum Bethune, gives plenty of depth and experience to a group sorely needing big-play potential.
New linebackers coach Randy Shannon brings a wealth of coaching experience and a national championship pedigree that helped him develop all-conference standouts like Ray Lewis, Dante Fowler and Antonio Morrison.
