No. 4 seed FSU softball (52-8) began their postseason drive to repeat as NCAA National Champions Friday afternoon as they opened against Bethune-Cookman (27-30).
The Noles made quick work of the Wildcats as they pushed across runs in the first two innings. Cassidy Davis hit a bomb in the bottom of the second and Dani Morgan crushed another in the bottom of the fourth.
However, it was a two out double by Makinzy Herzog that brought across two more runs that put the game out of reach with the Noles ultimately winning 8-0.
Carsyn Gordon launched a solo homerun in the bottom of the fifth inning to make it 6-0.
