It was just under one calendar year ago when the FSU softball team did something that they never had before – went out to Oklahoma City for the Women’s College World Series and came back home with the first national title in the recent history of the program after sweeping Washington in the championship series between the programs.
Now, head coach Lonni Alameda has the garnet and gold in the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament for the seventh straight season and looks to make it back to the WCWS for the first time in that span in back-to-back seasons – but to do so, the Seminoles have to get past a team from not that far away.
