Florida State continues their overhaul of the offensive line with the signing of three-star West Florida Tech offensive tackle Darius Washington.
The Seminoles have emphasized offensive line recruiting, but offered Washington late in this cycle. The timing of the offer didn’t seem to matter to the Pensacola native, who decommitted from Mississippi State on February 3rd, making it a battle between Florida State and Miami to land his signature.
Offensive line coach Greg Frey took the lead in Washington’s recruitment, with the assist coming from linebackers coach Raymond Woodie. The pair did well to get him on campus for his last official visit and, ultimately, fend off a late push from Miami.
