TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida State safety Derwin James will miss Saturday's game against No. 10 Louisville after having surgery Monday to repair cartilage damage in his left knee, Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher said.
"He has a torn cartilage in his knee," Fisher said. "He does not have any ACL [injury] or any structural damage whatsoever."
Fisher could not provide a timetable for the star sophomore's return. James was having surgery Monday afternoon, and Fisher said the surgeons would not know how they would repair the damage until surgery began.
