FSU had been without a permanent athletic director for the past nine months after Stan Wilcox left to take a job with the NCAA.
David Coburn was brought in as the interim athletic director by FSU President John Thrasher.
However, Thrasher removed the interim title Friday and announced Coburn as the 12th athletic director in FSU history.
The move seemed to be panned by FSU fans and some former players on social media but I’m not sure why that’s the case.
Here’s the deal with the situation.
It doesn’t really matter if Coburn has the interim tag on his title or not.
