FSU QB Sean Maguire injured, Deondre Francois may start opener

— The Florida State football team has some early clarity in its starting quarterback battle.

Redshirt senior Sean Maguire suffered a broken bone in his right foot and will be out at least four weeks, Jimbo Fisher said after Saturday's practice.

The injury makes way for redshirt freshman Deondre Francois to win the starting quarterback job as FSU prepares for its season opener against Ole Miss at Camping World Stadium on Sept. 5.

"Of course, [Maguire is] down and he feels bad," Fisher said. "But there was no hesitation of what to do. I have the utmost respect for Sean Maguire.
