Florida governor Ron DeSantis will be meeting with Florida State president John Thrasher today as part of a roundtable on college athletics.
Presumably on the agenda will be the viability of holding a 2020 college football season, something that has come into question the last few days as the Big 10 and Pac-12 are reportedly on the verge of postponing or cancelling its fall athletic seasons. DeSantis has been outspoken on playing this year, including holding the FSU vs. UF game, as well as on paying college athletes for their likenesses.
“The students work their whole lives to be able to get to this point and they shouldn’t have their season taken away from them,” DeSantis said during a press conference this week.
