When the idea of Florida State playing a football game in Ireland was talked about last fall, it didn’t take long to convince Athletics Director Michael Alford. A primetime game on national television to open the 2024 season in Week 0 in front of a sold-out crowd in Dublin seemed a no-brainer.
But he warned officials it would come with a price.
“You’re going to hear the [FSU] Warchant throughout the pubs a week and a half before going into the game,” Alford said of the conversation.
