Florida State’s men’s basketball team will be without the services of two newcomers when the Seminoles start preseason camp.
Forward Jaylan Gainey (knee) and guard Chandler Jackson (hand) will miss the start of practice due to injuries sustained during preseason workouts, FSU coach Leonard Hamilton announced Thursday.
The 6-foot-9 Gainey is a graduate transfer from Brown University who averaged 6.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.9 blocks. He averaged 8.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocked shots during the Seminoles’ 3-game tour of Canada.
Jackson was a 4-star prospect from Christian Brothers High in Memphis who signed as part of FSU’s 2022 recruiting class.
