Summer isn’t just talking season for college football— it’s also national award watch list season, when the groups who bestow hardware honoring the best at each position break out their initial manifestos of whom to watch. The Rimington Trophy, which my autocorrect hates with the fiery passion of a thousand suns, is given to the country’s top center, and Florida State’s Alec Eberle has been selected as an early contender.
And while an initial offering of 57 centers on the first watch list can hardly be said to comprise an elite group, Eberle is certainly looking to join some lofty company with regard to FSU’s history with the Rimington.
