FSU football fans saw the 2013 team set records offensively and featured the best defense in the country while winning the final BCS national championship.
Of course a number of those players left to play in the NFL, and defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt left to be replaced by Charles Kelly after the 2013 season.
The FSU football program accepted a counterpunching mentality somewhere along the line. Was the 2013 season so easy that players got complacent? Was it the coaching changes?
I’m not sure but a noticeable trend began in 2014 that has carried on ever since.
