If you’ve ever gotten a chance to watch a Miami Hurricanes football game where they aren’t lucky to have FSU football come in and actually sell out their rented stadium over the last decade, you might think that the fans are really coordinated and wearing the same color – only to realize those are just empty seats throughout what is now called Hard Rock Stadium.
It’s a problem that has been part of what was once “The U” dating back to when the played at the Orange Bowl – fans in orange and green love to talk about their fandom but don’t actually come out and support the team when they play anyone other than the Seminoles or the occasionally big name program like a Notre Dame, Ohio State or Florida.
