For the last four decades, there have been very few uniform combinations in college football that are more recognizable or honored than the one rocked by FSU football: the spear on a gold helmet with a granny jersey and gold pants (or white jersey on the road) has constantly been rated as one of the tops in the country.
Of course, in the current state of the sport, tradition sometimes isn’t always popular and there has been a growing chorus in the Florida State camp to switch things up – even just wearing garnet and garnet (a look started in the early 90s and worn at times over the next decade) as well as the occasional black jersey and whatever else Nike comes up with.
