I wrote Thursday FSU football had been able to avoid the recruiting slide seen after Jimbo Fisher left for Texas A&M in 2017.
The 2018 recruiting class slid to the mid-60’s rankings before Willie Taggart was hired and he did an admirable job of salvaging the class with a final No. 11 ranking.
FSU’s 2020 recruiting class saw three decommitments Friday and fell from No. 18 to No. 22 and now has just 14 commitments.
So the falloff hasn’t been as drastic up to this point, but it’s something the next coach is going to have to address immediately.
