Florida State football has added another piece at its most critical position of need this afternoon, as graduate-transfer Ryan Roberts has announced his intention of transferring from Northern Illinois University to use his final year of amateur eligibility playing for the Seminoles.
Roberts (6’6, 297) is from Northville, MI, where he played tight end and also starred in basketball in high school before heading to DeKalb, IL, to play for the Huskies. He was the No. 99 tight end in the country coming out of high school in 2015 and a composite two-star prospect. However, Roberts transitioned to the right tackle spot for Northern Illinois, after putting on nearly 50 good pounds in college.
