Every season since Bobby Bowden took over as the head coach of FSU football in 1976, the Seminoles have taken the field wearing the iconic look of the gold helmet, garnet facemask and the garnet and white spears on the side. It’s a look that lets people know that the Noles are taking the field and people need to get out of the way.
With the exception of a handful of games over that 42 season span, the Seminoles have worn that helmet and it has been praised as one of the best in all of college football.
