It really wasn’t as bad as it looked. Or maybe it was worse, depending upon your perspective. In a game that few Seminole fans really believed FSU could win, the ’Noles fell to 3-6 on the 2017 season after losing a 31-14 contest on the road against the Clemson Tigers.
It looked like this one would be a runaway early on, as Clemson jumped out to a 17-0 lead and FSU looked listless on offense outside of freshman running back Cam Akers. But a gritty defensive performance allowed the ’Noles to hang around, and the Seminoles first third-quarter touchdown of the year cut that lead to just 10.
