Over a quarter century ago, Chris Weinke made a decision to abandon FSU football. After signing with the program and reporting to campus out of high school in Minnesota, Weinke ended up trading in his shoulder pads for a lifelong dream of every young boy: playing minor league baseball for six seasons.
Ultimately, Weinke would make his way back to Tallahassee and be thrust into the starting lineup thanks to an injury before the start of the 1998 season.
