FSU football adds commitment from another long cornerback, Derek Bermudez

If you’re a fan of length in the secondary, then you’re probably a big supporter of how the 2020 Florida State recruiting class is shaping up. Tonight, that unit got even bigger and deeper, as cornerback Derek Bermudez verbally committed to the Seminoles.

Bermudez (6’2, 180) is from Jacksonville’s Sandalwood High School, and the teammate of FSU’s 2020 quarterback commit, Jeff Sims, who’s been an enthusiastic recruiter for the ’Noles. Recruited to Florida State by defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett and offensive coordinator Kendal Briles, Bermudez is the tenth member of the Seminoles’ 2020 class, and the fourth cornerback— all of whom measure in, presently, at 6’2.
