I wrote yesterday FSU football didn’t play as well as one would hope against the level of competition Alabama State brings to the table.
The Noles nearly covered the 41 point spread, but the Hornets did miss three field goals on the day while making some questionable game management decisions that cost them points.
In other words, the game felt much closer than the final score would indicate. They converted 40 percent of their third down opportunities while completing 64 percent of their passes.
On top of that, there were a lot of receivers running open who were missed with inaccurate throws.
