It was a day of firsts for Florida State (13-6, 4-4), beginning with record snowfall on the Tallahassee campus and ending with the Seminoles’ first West Coast trip in the expanded ACC. On the first leg of their two-game California swing, the Noles lost to the Cal Golden Bears (10-9, 3-5), wasting a Quad two opportunity. Watkins and Ewin combined for scoring, but each picked up four fouls early in the second half, and when they rode the bench, the offense capitulated. On the defensive side, Cal obliterated FSU on the glass, becoming the story in the game and the main culprit for the Noles’ 69-61 defeat.
