Florida State sophomore defensive back Trey Marshall suffered a torn biceps tendon Saturday and will undergo surgery, an athletic department spokesperson confirmed.
A starter at the Seminoles' star position, which is similar to a nickelback, Marshall suffered the injury late in the first quarter of Saturday's 41-21 win against Louisville.
The tear requires surgery, but Marshall has a chance to return for the postseason, Jimbo Fisher told Warchant.com, which first reported the news.
In six starts for No. 9 Florida State, Marshall has 21 tackles and a sack. He was replaced Saturday by senior Tyler Hunter and former walk-on Javien Elliott, who recorded an interception.
