FSU basketball and Purdue traded baskets early in the game before the Noles began to create separation with about nine minutes left in the first half on a shot by Trent Forrest.
The Noles used good defense to force turnovers that they would turn into points and second chance points to build at 44-32 halftime lead.
However, it was Purdue that came out hot in the second half and effectively erased that lead within the first six minutes.
They took a 52-51 lead on a Carsen Edwards layup with 13:37 left to play and built that lead to as high as eight with 3:23 left in the game.
