For the last 42 seasons, the FSU baseball team may not have won a national title – the one bad part on the legacy of long time head coach Mike Martin Sr., who retired after last season – but it was without a doubt the most consistent team in all of college baseball, with nothing more evidence of that being last season.
With their backs against the wall and entering the postseason as a No. 3 seed in the Athens, Georgia regional, Martin led the Seminoles through a dog stomping of both the host Georgia Bulldogs and the FAU Owls before taking care of business over LSU in the Super Regional round – ending the season yet again in Omaha.
