As expected, after dropping a road series to Wake Forest, Florida State dropped 2 spots to 6 in D1 baseball’s weekly poll. Dropping a road series to the Demon Deacons is nothing to be ashamed about for any team. Playing 8 games in 9 days and going 6-2 in that span is pretty impressive, especially when you factor travel into that already hectic equation.
This is still a good team, but as is the case with most squads at this point in the season, questions persist. To wit: after giving up Game One of Saturday’s doubleheader in walk-off fashion, FSU continues to look for a closer, and while it has many candidates, the coaching staff will need to continue to give pitchers chances like it did with Cobi Johnson against Wake.
