No. 14 FSU baseball (3-1, 0-0 ACC) had to dig themselves out of an early deficit against South Florida (2-3) Tuesday night.
The Noles spotted the Bulls a 1-0 lead in the top of the first and two more runs in the top of the third to trail 3-0 early.
FSU baseball got it going in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game 3-3 on RBI’s from Carter Smith and Tyler Martin.
The Noles broke the game open on a three-run bomb from Matheu Nelson in the bottom of the sixth and tapped on one more run in the bottom of the seventh on a bases-loaded walk to Nelson, who had four RBI’s on the night.
