Buster Posey is one of the most decorated FSU baseball players in recent history. He’s a former Johnny Bench Award winner and Collegiate Baseball Player of the Year.
He also was a Dick Howser Award winner and a Golden Spikes Award winner before being selected No. 5 overall by the San Francisco Giants in the 2008 MLB Draft.
Often times it’s difficult to predict how players will adapt to professional baseball after having outstanding college careers. However, Posey wasted no time showing his skills by winning the National League Rookie of the Year.
That simply was foreshadowing of things to come as he has been a six-time all-star, NL MVP, four time Silver Slugger Award, Hank Aaron Award winner, NL Comeback Player of the Year, and 2012 Batting Champion.
