Florida State athletic director Michael Alford didn’t mince words when sharing his concerns about the growing financial gap between the ACC and powerhouse conferences like the Big Ten and SEC.

Speaking to the school’s Board of Trustees Friday, Alford warned if the Seminoles want to continue to compete at a national level, more needs to be done.

“For Florida State to compete nationally, something has to change moving forward,” Alford said.

Alford highlighted to the board that Florida State athletics provides about 15% of the value in the ACC’s media rights deal but only receives about 7% distribution as one of the 14 full conference members.
