TALLAHASSEE — Florida State freshman guard Ta’Niya Latson had 32 points and 5 rebounds as the host posted a 92-77 victory over Florida on Wednesday night.
Florida State improved to 4-0 after shooting 34-of-67 (50.7%) from the field and in the first half used runs of 9-0 and 8-0 en route to a 48-36 halftime edge.
FSU led 69-63 going into the fourth quarter. A 14-1 start to the quarter helped FSU break away from its longtime rival and outscore the Gators 23-14 in the final 10 minutes.
The Gators (2-1) were paced by KK Deans’ 23 points and Leilani Correa’s 22 points.
