Former Nole Buster Posey named National League All-Star

FSU will be represented in the Major League Baseball All-Star game by FSU great Buster Posey for the sixth time.

He’s in his 10th year with the San Francisco Giants as he won the players vote at his position (catcher).

Posey is currently batting .290 which is just below his career average of .307, but his on base percentage is nearly identical to his career average of .376.

Posey’s power numbers are near where they’ve been at the All-Star. He has five home runs and 27 RBI’s and finished last season with 12 home runs and 67 RBI’s, so he’s slightly off that pace in the latter department.
