Over the first five weeks of the 2017 calendar, the Alabama Crimson Tide have gone through more offensive coordinators (two) than they have played actual games (one). The sudden departure of Steve Sarkisian to the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday means that when ‘Bama takes on FSU football this coming September, head coach Nick Saban will be breaking in a new mind in live game action.
The move comes after the coordinator for the last three seasons, “Party Boy” Lane Kiffin, was asked to leave the sidelines and get an early start on his new job as the head coach at Florida Atlantic shortly after Alabama won the Peach Bowl on New Year’s Eve.
