On a sun drenched Sunday in Wisconsin, a South Florida native and former FSU golfer made history in a big way when Brooks Koepka became the fourth former Seminole to win one of the four major tournaments when he took home the 2017 U.S. Open championship.
Not only did Koepka, who was a three time All-American for Florida State during his time at the school, bring home his first major title, but he tied the record for lowest score in the history of the tournament, finishing the weekend 16 strokes under par, bookending his tournament by shooting five under par on both Thursday and Sunday.
