In desperate need for a win, Florida State (13-7, 4-5) fell short, 78-71, despite playing Stanford’s (14-6, 6-3) likely first-team all-conference big man better than most team’s this season. The story for the Seminoles was a familiar one: Stanford shot far better from deep than they have on the season, while the ‘Noles struggled to get shots to fall for much of the game. FSU did outscore the Cardinal 17-2 in second chance points, but Stanford trumped FSU by 15 from beyond the arc.
