Florida State announced on Tuesday that there will be a flyover from three US Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon planes prior to the home opener vs. NC State scheduled for noon. What makes this even cooler is the lead jet will be flown by an FSU graduate, according to a current Florida State faculty member.
According to aerospaceweb.org, these F-16 Fighting Falcon jets have a top speed of 1,350 miles per hour and normally fly at an altitude of 40,000 feet. To put that into perspective, the speed of sound is just 767 miles per hour.
