Florida State University’s Board of Trustees has unanimously selected chemist and Harvard University vice provost for research Dr. Richard McCullough as its next president.
McCullough will succeed John Thrasher, who announced he would be stepping down last September.
McCullough is both an academic and an entrepreneur and pledged to bring his skills and experience in both areas to Tallahassee; he owns multiple patents and has started two companies in the field of printable electronic materials. Due to his background in research he is also an avid fundraiser.
When interviewed, McCullough made some interesting comments when it came to Florida State athletics.
