Florida State football announced on Twitter that their non conference opponent for the 2020 season would be the Jacksonville State Gamecocks:
After a cancellation from their original non conference opponent Samford, there was much speculation regarding who the Seminoles would be playing outside of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Mike Norvell told the assembled media after practice about the game as well:
“We got our 11th game. Jacksonville State on October third. Good to have that finalized. Glad to have another home contest.”
The Florida Gators voted for a Southeastern Conference schedule that disrupted the longstanding FSU-UF rivalry, despite fellow SEC East school South Carolina voting against it - with the South Carolina Gamecocks voicing their desire to play their in-state rival, Clemson.
