- Brendan Sonnone of the Orlando Sentinel attempts to explain the issues behind what has caused Florida State's 29 false starts.
In total, nine different linemen have committed the infraction. Four of the false starts have been called on three different centers, and six have been on wide receivers or tight ends. So everyone is taking a turn with the mental lapses.
Perhaps the most bizarre aspect of the false starts is how they're bundled together. FSU has five drives this season with at least two false starts, meaning more than 30 percent of the penalties are coming in bunches.
